World Series round in Switzerland
Yesterday, Bulle (Switzerland) welcomed the 2nd stop of the WCMX. The team of the Stones Family has been organising a wheelchair freestyle competition for years as part of their multi-disciplines contest "high in the park", and they jumped at the opportunity of welcoming a world level contest.
On my front, the situation wasn't ideal. After coming back from the UK round, I started a change in my anti antiepileptic medication. If the change should be beneficial, the transition phase is pretty brutal and I am still struggling. I had to push myself to go to Bulle. But I really wanted to do it.
Thankfully, I know the park pretty well. And even not I 100%, there are things I can show and ride a more technical and clean WCMX there. I thus chose 2 less physical runs, with variations and a creative use of the park.
I did a pretty stupid run in my first trick of my first run, a "fire-cracker", which annoyed me, but I kept it together to have a good first score.
In my second run, I took a big risk by riding a big rail that no one chose to take that day, including all the men. This probably gave me the win in the women's, and would have maybe given me the biggest score of the day if I hadn't forgotten part of my run after it (which had never happened to me in a competition before).
I am very happy to take this second win of the season and to be leading the World Series. I am especially proud of my mental game so far and hope I can keep being calm and composed when things are tough for the rest of the year.
I now have a bit of a competition break, as I will not be travelling to the North-American round in July. Next stop for me is thus Germany in mid-September.
