First 2024 WCMX World Series

Last week, Manchester UK hosted the first 2024 WCMX World Series in the Greystone Action Sport Center.

It was hard for me gage my riding before this first contest of the year, as I hadn't spent much time in my skate chair. I chose to enjoy the good snow condition as much as possible and to extend the skiing season up to the last day. Therefore, I knew that I was ready physically, but that I might need some time to find my riding.

I arrived Thursday and chose to take my time during the first practice. I didn't put any pressure on myself to achieve, or even to try, any trick. The idea being to avoid creating some psychological blocage. The "want" to ride just came with time and with it the confidence. And on Friday practice I found some lines naturally as I started to learn the park.

On Saturday, the competition went well. After a solid first run, I chose to take more risk in the second. Unfortunately, I fell on my last stick, leaning too much forward. This mistake probably costed my the first place in front of the men. However, I win the women's category with a good margin, in front of the Italian Ilaria Naef and the British Rebecca Proctor.
